Bioelectrochemical monitoring of soluble guanylate cyclase inhibition by the natural β-carboline canthin-6-one
2017
Abstract The inhibition of soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) by canthin-6-one alkaloid ( L1 ) is presented and the mechanism of deactivation is studied using solution phase and voltammetry of microparticles methodologies. Possible inhibition pathways: oxidation of Fe 2+ to Fe 3+ coupled to reduction of the naphthyridone motif present by the canthin-6-one and coordinating or reacting of L1 with cysteine units of sGC, are balanced.
PEG 400/Cerium Ammonium Nitrate Combined with Microwave-Assisted Synthesis for Rapid Access to Beta-Amino Ketones. An Easy-to-Use Protocol for Discov…
2018
Compound libraries are important requirement in target-based drug discovery. In the present work, a small focused compound library based on β-aminoketone scaffold has been prepared combining microwave-assisted organic synthesis (MAOS) with polymer-assisted solution phase synthesis (PASPS) and replacing reaction workup standard purification procedures with solid phase extraction (SPE). Specifically, the effects of solvent, such as dioxane, dimethylformamide (DMF), polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG 400), temperature, irradiation time, stoichiometric ratio of reagents, and catalysts (HCl, acetic acid, cerium ammonium nitrate (CAN)) were investigated to maximize both conversion and yield. The optimi…
Macrophage phenotype in the subclinical gut inflammation of patients with ankylosing spondylitis
2014
OBJECTIVE: Long-term evolution of subclinical gut inflammation to overt Crohn's disease (CD) has been described in AS patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate macrophage polarization occurring in the inflamed gut of patients with AS. METHODS: Twenty-seven HLA-B27(+) AS patients, 20 CD patients and 17 normal controls were consecutively enrolled. Classic M1 (iNOS(+)IL-10(-)), resolution phase (iNOS(+)IL-10(+)), M2 and CD14(+) macrophages were characterized by immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry. Quantitative gene expression analysis of IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5, IL-33 and STAT6 was performed by real time PCR. RESULTS: Classic M1 macrophages were expanded in CD and AS, where resolution phas…
Effect of stiffness on the phase behavior of cubic lattice chains
2005
ChemInform Abstract: Catenanes and Threaded Systems: From Solution to Surfaces
2009
Functional catenanes and threaded systems able to perform controllable mechanical motions are ideally suited for the design of molecular devices displaying mechanical, electronic, information or sensing functions. These systems have been extensively studied in solution phase and numerous examples of stimuli-driven molecular shuttles have been reported. However, for fully developing their potential applications, they must be interfaced with the macroscopic world. To achieve this objective, in the last few years catenanes and rotaxanes have been organized over surfaces in the form of chemisorbed monolayers or physisorbed monolayers, multilayers and thin films. This tutorial review summarizes …
Square wave voltammetric determination of the redox state of a reversibly oxidized/reduced depolarizer in solution and in solid state
2012
Abstract Square wave voltammetric measurements allows for determining the composition of system containing a reversibly reducible/oxidable electroactive species in two oxidation states. The method is based on recording the ratio of reverse to forward peak currents. That ratio can be correlated with the molar fraction of the oxidized (or reduced) form of the depolarizer. The method was compared with cyclic voltammetric methods suggested in literature and it was tested using Fe ( CN ) 6 3 - / Fe ( CN ) 6 4 - in solution phase. Application to solid state systems is illustrated by the dehydroindigo/indigo couple in synthetic Maya Blue-type specimens prepared from indigo plus different clays whe…
Complexes of Tin(IV) with Tridentate Ligands MSSBAUER, Infrared, and Solution Phase Studies
1974
The configuration in the solid state and in solution phase of complexes of SuIV wit,li tridentate “planar” ligands, Sn(trid)2 and HNEt3Cl3 Sntrid, have been investigated by infrared and MOSSBAUER spectroscopy, as well as by osmometry, conductivity, and electronic and PMR spectroscopy. The presence of monomeric Sn(trid)2 and ionic [HNEt] [Cl3Sn trid−] species has been inferred. Octahedral type configurations are advanced for both classes of compounds. Pt(II) nitrile complexes: New insights on old complexes from a combined experimental and theoretical study
2017
Abstract The spectroscopic characterization of cis - and trans -[PtCl 2 (NCR) 2 ] (R = CH 3 , Ph, CH 2 Ph) was reported in solid state and solution phase. Moreover, the X-ray structures of cis -[PtCl 2 (NCCH 3 ) 2 ], cis - and trans -[PtCl 2 (NCPh) 2 ] were redetermined at low temperature. FT-IR and NMR showed a blue-shift and a slight shielding of the νCN and δ ( 13 C CN ) values, respectively, in a counterintuitive way with respect to the well known improved reactivity towards nucleophiles of nitriles ligands coordinated to platinum(II), when compared to their free forms. These spectroscopic behaviors were also confirmed by theoretical experiments at DFT level. Moreover, DFT approach show…
